A Fort Collins Legend, One Roll at a Time

Our handmade cinnamon rolls have been a Silver Grill staple for nearly four decades — soft, sweet, and baked fresh every morning in Old Town Fort Collins. What started as one man’s quest for the perfect roll has become a local tradition shared by thousands each month.
About Our World Famous Rolls

The Rolls That Made Us Famous

It all started with a dream to become Old Town’s Cinnamon Roll King. Back in 1986, after years of trial and error (and a few hockey-puck-sized flops), we finally landed on the recipe that changed everything — a sweet, tender dough perfected with help from retired German baker Russ Hamilton.

What began as a small-batch experiment soon became the heartbeat of the Silver Grill Café — one pan at a time.

A Recipe Perfected Through Passion

Today, we bake more than 12,000 cinnamon rolls every month, each one rolled, cut, and baked right here in Fort Collins. Soft, gooey, and generously frosted, they’ve become our signature item — the reason generations of guests have made us part of their morning tradition.

Always Something New: The Roll of the Month

While we honor the recipe that started it all, we love to keep things fresh. Each month, our bakers craft a new Roll of the Month, featuring creative flavors that celebrate the season — think caramel apple in the fall, lemon poppyseed in spring, or pumpkin streusel when the weather turns crisp.

It’s our way of continuing the tradition of hand-crafted goodness while adding a dash of fun and creativity to every visit.

From Our Kitchen to Your Door

Thanks to our friends at Morning Fresh Dairy, you can now enjoy Silver Grill cinnamon rolls without leaving home. Freshly baked and delivered straight to your doorstep, our partnership brings the same handmade quality and hometown flavor to tables all across Northern Colorado.

More Than a Cinnamon Roll

For us, these rolls are more than just breakfast — they’re a piece of our story. Made from scratch, served with pride, and baked with the same care that’s defined the Silver Grill Café for decades.

Because some traditions are just too good not to share.

Pumpkin Spice, Twice as Nice

This month’s roll is fall wrapped in frosting. Our classic cinnamon roll gets a seasonal upgrade with pumpkin-infused dough, chai-spiced cream cheese frosting, and a buttery brown sugar streusel. Cozy, spicy, and everything nice.

A Little Tart, A Lotta Sweet – Meet the Key Lime Roll!

Tangy, sweet, and totally irresistible—our October Roll of the Month is inspired by the classic Key Lime Pie! A fluffy cinnamon roll is filled with citrusy lime goodness, topped with a creamy key lime glaze, whipped cream, and a graham cracker crumble. It’s Florida sunshine, Silver Grill style.

Don’t Take Our Word for It…

"We came in with friends and sat outside on the patio for my husband’s birthday. The cinnamon roll and country fried steak were to die for! The waitress, Juliana was warm, knowledgeable about the menu, and came by to refill drinks, sauces, and butter without ever having to be asked. We will certainly be back!"

"We really appreciate the warm welcome of the staff. They made sure that we can choose where we will be seated. Their service shows how passionate they are and not just for the sake of working there. In addition to the ambiance of the place. From the background music that will help you relax while checking the menu. And their food, which is not only generous in serving but the quality and taste, really justifies the price. We’ve been to several diners in Denver but we found a gem here in FOCO. Kudos!"

"In town for work and a local suggested it for breakfast. It was great. I started looking at all the historical items and owner came over and we talked for about 20mins while he gave a history of the place."
